1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Runlock (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not download or use the App.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Lumio Studio, the company that develops and operates Runlock.
2. Description of Service
Runlock is a step-gating mobile application for iPhone that locks selected apps on your device until you reach your daily step goal. The service includes:
- Daily step goal tracking via Apple HealthKit integration
- App locking and unlocking managed through Apple’s Screen Time API (Family Controls / Managed Settings)
- Automatic midnight reset cycle
- Streak tracking and motivational push notifications
- An optional Challenges tab (requires Sign in with Apple) for competing with friends on step goals
- A Premium subscription (managed via Adapty and Apple StoreKit 2) that unlocks unlimited app slots, emergency unlock, widgets, and advanced statistics
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Runlock, or have obtained verifiable parental or guardian consent if you are between 13 and 17 years old. The App is not intended for children under 13.
By using the App, you confirm that you meet these age requirements.
4. Account
No account is required to use Runlock’s core features. Step tracking, app locking, and most Premium features operate entirely on your device.
The optional Challenges tab requires Sign in with Apple. If you use it, you are responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. You may delete your Challenges account and all associated data at any time by emailing contact@lumiostudio.co with the subject “Delete My Account.”
5. Subscriptions and Payments
5.1 Free Tier
Runlock’s free tier lets you lock up to 3 apps. No payment information is required.
5.2 Premium Subscription
Premium features — including unlimited app slots, emergency unlock, widgets, and advanced statistics — are available through an auto-renewing subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Adapty and processed by Apple through In-App Purchase (StoreKit 2).
5.3 Auto-Renewal
Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID will be charged within 24 hours before the renewal date.
5.4 Cancellation
Cancel any time by going to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods, except where required by applicable law.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or bypass the app locking mechanism
- Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App
- Use the App for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality, servers, or networks
- Impersonate another person or entity within the Challenges feature
7. Intellectual Property
The Runlock name, logo, design, and all related content are the property of Lumio Studio and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.
8. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
Runlock is not a medical device and does not provide health, medical, or fitness advice. Step count accuracy depends on your iPhone hardware, iOS version, and connected devices (e.g., Apple Watch). Runlock is not responsible for inaccurate step counts reported by Apple HealthKit.
App locking functionality depends on Apple’s Screen Time API. Apple may modify or restrict this API at any time without notice to us. We are not responsible for changes in iOS Screen Time behavior or API limitations.
The App is designed for iPhone only. Android and other platforms are not currently supported.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LUMIO STUDIO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST DATA, INABILITY TO ACCESS LOCKED APPS, INACCURATE STEP COUNTS, OR INTERRUPTION OF THE CHALLENGES SERVICE.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or a Premium subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App — including the Challenges feature — if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we reasonably determine to be harmful.
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. If you have a Challenges account, contact us at contact@lumiostudio.co to request full account deletion.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Turkey.

12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised date. For material changes, we will notify you within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
